$4.5M Park Expansion To Include Additional 32 Sites, Wow, that’s impressive. Work continues on the $4.5 million dollar project to revamp Lousiana’s Cypremort Point State Park, according to KATC. This is great for tourism and for allow larger RV’s to maneuver their rigs with much more room.

Officials say that tourism is the main focus for the construction. That’s a good enough reason to make this huge investment.

Paul Naquin, St. Mary Parish councilman District 9 said, “It’s a beautiful place. What I love most is that you can go fish any way you want. You can go fish out here its fresh water, go fish out there it’s salt water.” Sounds like the perfect place for brackish water fishing.

Cypremort Point has been a sportsman’s dream come true for many years, but the park only has six cabins available for those who want to camp.

“As you see we have several big campers over there, but that’s property owners, not rental,” Naquin said.

After August the park will have added 32 RV sites. The grounds will have access to electric, sewerage and other amenities. RVs will also have enough room to turn around to exit.

Naquin believes the renovations will encourage visitors from all over to come to the parish.

Naquin said, “I think, well I’m saying we’re going to have snowbirds come and join us during the winters.”
