The last weekend in September saw the gathering of Grand Design owners for the first annual Washington State Owners Rally. We had approximately 70 rigs in attendance. The rally was held at the beautiful Columbia Sun RV Resort in Kennewick. Things started off great with a welcome sign for our group as we pulled up to the resort. Arrivals were quickly guided to their site by the well-prepared staff at the resort. Most didn't even have to get out of their trucks!
Activities kicked off on Friday morning with a few welcomes from the wagonmasters, George Brown and Sally Stomberg, Tim Reams from Grand Design, and Keith Bennett from Blue Dog RV. There were seminars hosted by Blue Dog, Norcold, Torklift and SkyMed along with a group discussion on departure and arrival checklist items over the two days of the rally. Several owners opened their trailers to others to show off modifications and decorating ideas. There was also a craft sale and swap meet on Saturday.
We had a pizza party on Friday provided by Blue Dog and a gigantic potluck on Saturday night. Several prizes were given away each night.
The best part of the rally experience is meeting other Grand Design owners. People got to see friends they have met at other rallies and make new friends.
I think we all had a GRAND time!
